Weekend’s Fixtures

This weekend’s fixtures.

We start with not a weekend game but a Wednesday match in Castle avenue for the 5ths. They will host Terenure at 1pm in a 40 over game. The 5ths are coming off the back of 2 good league wins including a 9 wicket win over Lucan last Sunday. As we enter into the business end they seem to be hitting some form and with a number of good young players (DV, JMcN, BM, YT) are definitely a team to watch.

While we’re on the 5ths I can tell you they have a double home weekend. Both games are 40 overs and both start at 1pm. On Saturdaythe Russians are coming for a division 11 league clash. Rush will be coming looking to win and Clontarf will be looking to continue their way up the Div 11 ladder. This takes us to Sunday in the Bull Ring and we have the 5ths Cup Quarter Final against Swords 2nds. We already have 3 teams in cup semi-finals, can we make it 4?

Now the 6th’s. On Saturday the 6ths travel to St Andrews College to take on AIB. AIB are blazing a trail through Division 14 dropping just 2 points in their 4 league matches. This is the toughest challenge in Div 14. The 6ths have had a good month or so and can pull off an upset here.

Lastly, for the Men’s sides. The First’s go into the last weekend of the AMC 20-20 bash needing just one win to guarantee as place in the quarters. The quarters are an open draw so it matters not a jot where you finish once in finish in the top 8. Knowing this we head to Rathmines to take on Leinster and Rush. The LCU website has us playing Rush at 10.30am and Leinster at 5.30pm, but this is subject to change so I can’t tell you for sure, so keep an eye on the Fixtures page of the LCU website if you’re planning on going over at some stage.

The Women have plenty for games happening as well

The Firsts are in Rathmines tonight at 6.30 and the Seconds will be in Phoenix tomorrow night at the same time. If you’re out that direction these are great opportunities to see these young guns showcase their talents a number of which are populating the Leinster youth teams as we speak.

Then next Monday and Tuesday they are both in the Bull Ring for 20 overs games starting at 6.30. The Seconds are up on Monday hosting The Hills and Tuesday will see the Firsts host Rush. Both sides are going well and improving every day and are well worth a watch. I highly recommend if you’re about, pop in for the evening.
