WE’RE BACK
This Thursday, after a long wait, Cricket finally returns to Castle Avenue.
Being back during the current global pandemic, we continue to battle with what comes with change. Both playing and watching cricket will be a little different. We respectfully ask you all to work with us and help us to meet our shared commitments to our friends, members and the wider public, to make our club the safest possible.
To this end, for your safety and the safety of others, we request you adhere to the changes outlined below. These changes have been put in place to meet the guidelines and directives handed down to us from Cricket Ireland, Cricket Leinster and the Government.
- Contact Tracing – Please sign in with your name and phone number at the main entrance to the club. There will be someone there to take your details and answer your questions.
- Social Distancing – stay 6 feet apart when outside your household group. This is requested of both players and spectators alike.
- Sanitising solution will be available upon entry and at specific locations.
- The Clubhouse will be closed but toilet facilities will be available.
- While some seating will be available, we ask, if possible, for you to bring your own chair and leave the benches for those who need them most.
- There will be a “players only” area outside the tea and dressing rooms, much like we have for International match days.
We understand that this is an inconvenience but hope we can all work together and for each other to make our new normal, normal.
On to the game we love and have missed, Cricket.
As many of you are aware, last year we embarked on a once in a generation project to relay the entire square. This has been a long road that we continue to walk and only been made possible by the incredibly hard work put in by the grounds committee and of course the care and expertise of our groundsman, local boy, Bryan McDermott.
It’s exciting to be back and we are very much looking forward to seeing you all again
Yours
Frank Furlong
